SpaySA has moved to their new location on 5357 W. Commerce and opened there on Monday, 3 October.

Animal Defense League

Animal Defense League has new hours for feral cats.

Starting Monday, 9 May:

Monday - Thursday
7:00 - 10:00 AM drop off
Pick up time is still 4:00 - 5:00 PM
NO SURGERY ON FRIDAYS

No appointment required.
Will take cats on a first come, first serve basis.
Limit is 2 cats per person per day.
They can only guarantee 10 surgery spots each day, but will try to fit in others if possible.

$10 includes spay/neuter, ear tip & rabies shot.

Starting 1 July, spay/neuter surgery fees will increase to $20 per cat. This includes:
- Spay or neuter surgery
- Penicillin injection
- Metacam injection for pain (keep cats well hydrated to prevent renal toxicity)
- Rabies vaccination if 3 mos or older
- FVRCP vaccination if too young for rabies (2 mos old)
- Ear notch (unless under 3 mos and being socialized for adoption)

There is also a possible $25 additional charge for pregnant cats over 45 days.

San Antonio Humane Society

The San Antonio Humane Society offers spaying and neutering of feral cats in San Antonio. The details are:

  • The Humane Society will no longer accept feral cats without an appointment. Call 210-226-7461 for an appointment. You must speak to a HS staff member to make an appointment. You cannot leave a voice mail.
  • Fee: PRICE INCREASE
    Effective immediately, prices for S/N including rabies shot is:
    $45 for males
    $50 for females
  • Kittens should be 3 months old so rabies vaccination can be given

Hill Country Animal League in Boerne

HCAL will do standby surgery for ferals Mon through Wed.
By appointment only on Thursdays.
No surgeries on Fridays as they do not have a vet that day.

Also, HCAL does not have a vet on duty every 2nd Monday of the month so there are no spay/neuter surgeries on this day. However, the office is open and staffed to answer questions and make appointments.
